Online education related questions

I am located in country X, and would like to start an online education school. Do you provide know-how, financing etc? Would you like to collaborate with me?

We can not unfortunately help you in that way at the moment. We offer the following free services:

• listing of your courses on our database
• open access to the course database and the other information on the site.
• open source access to the code and content of the database

We also would like to publish your experiences in starting an online school on this site if you care to share them with us with an open source type of license.

I have XYZ qualifications and would like to teach with GNA, are you hiring? should I send my resume? or I would like to teach online, how should I go about it?

We do not offer any courses, please do not send any resumes for a teaching position.

I am interested in studying with GNA, can you send me information about the courses you offer?

We do not offers any online courses. We have sponsored and offered courses in the past, but have no plans at the moment to offer courses again. Our efforts are concentrated in providing resources and support for online education.

I am interested in studying online. What should I do, what is your advice?

We hope to have more information available here in the future but in the mean time:

• you should identify the areas of study that interest you. There might be business and family considerations here in addition to personal preferences
• then we recommend that you use the search form on our home page to find relevant courses by trying a number of keywords
• note that the GNA database also provides search to the deja.com site that might provide additional insights on the courses, programs or schools you are considering
• you can then try to contact the organization and/or people involved and ask additional information so you can make an assessment. There is additional information at our Student Channel.

Last but not least we welcome you comments on your experiences with online education.

I am interested in getting certified as a teacher, do you have career information? I am interested in X as a career, do you have career information?

Because of the increased interest in career information in various fields, including teaching, we have decided to set up a special area on our TWiki to collect links. Please check out our GNA Guides web. This is slightly peripheral to our main mission but we shall do our best to help and we definitely appreciate any contributions of useful sites.

I am doing research related to online education. Can you please help me with hints, links, suggestions, statistics, papers etc?

Unfortunately, we cannot help in answering general questions about online education and distance learning. However we are in the process of providing organized collections of information related to online education on the GNA Guides web and the Online Education Dictionary (OED). They might be of some help.

We would be happy to answer specific questions on the Globewide Network Academy itself however.

How should I contact GNA by email?

How much does it cost to list courses with your database?

There is no charge for listing courses with the GNA catalog.

I would like to list my course(s) on the GNA catalog, what do I do, what is the next step?

We have established a separate page for relevant listing information.

Are you interested in reciprocal listing? we list GNA on our site in exchange for your listing of our site?

We are definitely interested in finding interesting sites related to online education to be listed on our site, for example on our GNA Guides web. We welcome suggestions but we can not however make any promises about listing.

Could you mail me a printed version of your catalog please?

We do not offer a printed edition of the catalog. All our efforts are focused in the online version and have no plans to offer a printed edition at this point. To access our database you can use the search form on our home page to find relevant courses by trying a number of keywords.

My company offers a product (service, deal etc) that might be useful to your students. Are you interested?

We do not offer any online courses, so there are no students. Please do not send any promotional material.

I am interested in advertizing with GNA. Can you send me more information?

We no longer accept banner ads. We have a separate page with additional information.
