Internet Connectivity Cost

Although our emphasis is on open source and free software, there are a number of other issues that are crucial if computers are to be used productively for the common good. Suhc issues include access to the net and open standards among others. The following story shows some of the difficulties that need to be addressed:

A BBC story on the current practice that has international data operators not sharing the cost of doing business with African ISPs. This results in high costs for Internet connection from the African continent, continuing the digital divide.
