Development Plan 1.1

The first idea is to try bootstrapping this text in a series of steps or levels progressing from an idea to presenting a number of alternative sources, facts and opinions on a particular subject:

Scratch Pad

Any possible topic that remotely relates to online education goes here even if there is no text to add, just a title or a name to follow up. For example a news story might lead to several topics. This involves either modifying the front page or posting on the Bulletin Board.

Alpha

Pages for these topics are established and if possible links to appropriate outside sites are found and established. Topics are linked to other topics and outside sources and quotations are used. At this point we are still an elaborate bookmarks file.

Beta

In this level more involved text has been written for each topic not just a quotation. At the beta level we try to make an assessment of the topic involved.

Distribution

Attempt has been made to find alternative sources of information, compare facts and opinions, present multiple points of view. This might not always be possible or necessary depending on the topic.

There is a subjective quality as to how topics will be classified but the general intent is to introduce quality control through progressively tighter requirements. Hopefully the project will attract a community of editors and users who can double check "facts and figures" as well as provide many viewpoints.

It is also our long term goal to provide a print version of this material.
